Base Camp can be a bit empty early on. In this guide, we’ll go over a sure fire way to make it a bustling camp with plenty of progress.

Base camp has a lot of potential hidden behind a lack of manpower. The game kind of shows you how to find survivors, but it doesn’t exactly tell you what triggers it. By sleeping a number of hours, you will have distress signals appear on the map indicated by green circles. Alternatively, NPCs at base camp will also allude to distress signals and mark them on the map for you.

Once you’ve prepared and teleported out to the location of the signal, you’ll need to clear a path to the survivor and back to the teleporter. Take your time, as this can be quite difficult if you rush into things.

When you finally arrive back at camp, you’ll be able to assign the survivor to a role in the camp. Eventually, you’ll have a fully functioning base with all hands on deck!
