Once the credits roll, you’ll notice you don’t have access to all of the extra classes. There’s a few steps you need to follow to complete this unlock. In this guide, we’ll go over each of them in detail.

Complete the final chapter

Once you beat the final boss in Chapter 23, the credits will roll. You cannot work towards gaining the subclasses until this step is done. It would be nice to have then sooner, but there is no way around this. Unfortunately, the unlock is tied to quest steps as with every other unlock in the game so far.

Complete your first post-game base dig

The first thing Virgil will get you to do after the final boss is run a base Iris Dig. This will be a single round dig and will have a different variety of enemy types, so be prepared. Once you’ve finished this and collected your rewards, you will get your next task.

Rescue the castaway survivor

This is a simple rescue as you’ve done before, however, there’s new enemy type that is invulnerable to damage. The location is next to the river with high cliffs on either side of it near the last board location in the FOB map. This time you’ll be needing to head across the bridges to the other side. However, avoid the bridges and cross on the natural land bridge lower on the incline. As there are Bombers, they will destroy the bridges and waste your time. Once you find the survivor, lug them back to camp and get ready for the final step.

Locate the final board

Once the survivor is back safe at camp, you’ll be instructed to find the final board. This is in the same location as the survivor and the last board you got before the final boss. However, you will need to head behind the giant building to a smaller shack. Again, there will be lots of wanderers, trackers and grabbers in this area, so use stealth to make it quick. Grab the board and head home, you’ve done it.

Choose your subclass

You can now head to the Skill Trainer in Base Camp or the Staging Area for Co-op to add a subclass to your character. The survivor class stays as a main class and you keep all the skills invested into it. Below I’ve collated all of the information of the subclasses.

Subclasses can equip 1 ability and 3 skills at any time. At Lv. 20 they gain an extra skill slot. These must manually be equipped. Abilities are purchasable at Lv. 5 of the appropriate subclass.
